Insane People, Insane World Part 1 The Domestic Front

O00000 boooooo, Halloween is coming….SCARY!  Trick or treat?  All I have are some tricks. The world is on fire.  At this very moment there are debates raging in every corner of our society about every imaginable thing.  This may seem like an obvious statement, but stop and think about it for just a moment.  Look at YouTube, check out the comment section on almost any video and you will see three major themes no matter what the video is about. Politics, religion, and race. These topics dominate almost all conversations.  There are groups of radical liberals, radical conservatives, theists, atheists, blacks, whites and almost everything in-between.  The way people are treating each other is atrocious.  The “F” word is used more than the word “the” and the names people call each other will curl your nose hairs.  The worst part is all of it, every last bit, is triviality.  We have lost respect for our fellow human being.  We are so caught up in hating one another and demeaning one another that the really important things that we should be doing are being left undone.  Meanwhile, the world is on fire, and there is no sign of an extinguisher anywhere.

I want to address some of those fires and I want to begin right here at home in the good ol’ US of A.  Now I will warn you, there will be some things that will shock you if you continue reading.  There might even be some colorful language, but we are all adults here and you can handle it. If you want to leave a comment that does not pertain to the topic, or if you want to call me a sexist, racist, bigot, homophobe, or you want to drop an “F” bomb, your comment will not appear below.  If you want to engage me in an opposing view or argument, please come with your facts or you will be crushed by reason and logic.  I do invite you to disagree if you can or you must, but I warn you, I hate rude behavior in a man, won’t tolerate it. Apologies to Captain Call.

While these inane debates are going on the problems around the world are crushing us and we do not even know it.  Right here at home we are in a dire crisis.  Our government is telling us that unemployment is right around 6%.  There are  33,850,924 people in this country who either do not have a job, or are marginally employed.  If we simply take that number and divide it by the number of people who are employed we get 22% unemployment.  However it is not that easy.  There is much more that goes into the formula.  What does not go into the formula is those workers who have given up looking for a job.  Workforce participation is at a 36 year low.  If we include these unemployed people the rate is over 12 % according to Forbes.   This does not include a break down of unemployment by ethnicity either.  We see that the Black unemployment rate is consistently higher than the white unemployment rate and has been for 50 years.  Not just higher, but twice as high and topping the charts at over 37% just last August according to an insightful article on Free Republic.  This is a small taste of our problems.

The Federal Reserve, which is not part of our government, yet prints our money, has been propping up our economy for years by purchasing bonds at the rate of $85,000,000,000.00 per month.  That is $85 billion or as G. Gordon Liddy would say 85,000 million.  They have since scaled back their bond purchases to around $75 billion.  Oh did I mention that was per month?  $85 billion times 12 months is $1,020,000,000,000.00 or $1.02 trillion or as G. Gordon Liddy would say 1,020 billion.  If that is not scary enough we have over $205,000,000,000,000.00 Yes folks that is $205 trillion.  If you want to find out more about unfunded liabilities check out this frightful article.

Let’s talk about healthcare.  Better yet, let’s not.  Just one question: were you able to keep your doctor? Okay, just one more question: how much are you paying for health insurance vs. what you were paying for health insurance?  Okay, okay, one more question: do you think your premiums will go up or down? Yay Obamacare!!!

How about inflation?  The government tells us that inflation is 1.7% however if we used the calculations from the 1980’s our inflation rate would be well over 9% Why the disparity? Well gas and food no longer count in today’s voodoo economics.  Food inflation alone is up over 22%.  Have you bought groceries lately?  What you are now spending $500.00 on at the grocery store used to cost you $390.00.  That is an increase to your food budget of $110.00 per month or an additional $1,320.00 per year.  How many raises have you had in the last few years? Jonelle Marte reveals in the Washington Post on August 28, 2014

Real hourly wages are down for workers at all education levels in the first half of this year compared to the first half of 2013, according to the Economic Policy Institute paper. Pay fell by 1.1 percent for people with high school diplomas, by 1 percent for people with some college, 1.6 percent for people with college degrees and by 2.7 percent for people with advanced degrees. “The last year has been a poor one for American workers’ wages,” writes Elise Gould, an economist with the institute, in the report.

Her article titled Bad News: Wages are down for pretty much everyone highlights the fact that wages in this country have stagnated, but worse than that they are also falling.  Prices are increasing, wages are falling, yet we are in economic recovery?  Does this not make sense to anyone else or am I the only one?

What about the national debt and the deficit?  Many people have no idea what the difference is between the national debt and inflation, but the difference is actually simple.  The national debt is the debt that our country owes to other entities.  For instance, when The Federal Reserve pumps $1.02 trillion into the bond market we the people have to pay it back…with interest, so, add that to the debt.  When China gives us a loan of a trillion dollars here $800 billion there, we have to pay that back…with interest, so, add that to the debt.  Our national debt is over $17,000,000,000,000.00(trillion)

The deficit on the other hand is the difference between what we take in and what we spend.  How about a little exercise?  Imagine you make $3,045 per year, but your expenses are $3,527 that means you spend $482 more per year than you earn.  That doesn’t sound too bad, unless you add a whole bunch of zeros to those numbers. The US will take in approximately $3.045 trillion our of our pockets and into their coffers.  However we spend $3.527 trillion per year as of today, well as of a few minutes ago when I looked it up. That means our deficit is $482 billion per year.  Balanced budget amendment anyone?  The government borrows this $482 billion from outside sources such as The Federal Reserve and China.  This does not include the propping up of our economy that was mentioned earlier.  If we were to pay off the national debt each  American taxpayer would need to write a check for  $153,062.00.  But remember those unfunded liabilities of $205,000,000,000,000.00.  To cover that each of us would need to write a check for $1,753,739.22. We are in the car with Thelma and Louise.  If you really want to be scared for Halloween check this out.  ——>

Okay, so, our government is lying to us.  Not just lying but they are lying in a devastating and debilitating manner. Our economy will implode at some point.  Democrat, Republican, Thelma, Louise, it really doesn’t matter.   Both parties have done this to us, and with our consent I might add.  Guess what, the most popular profession among our Presidents is…drum roll please….LAWYER!  Lawyers do not tell the truth, they craft the truth, just keep that in mind.  Folks, we are in a world of hurt in our economy, but thank God otherwise we are doing just fine…right?

Stay tuned for more insanity.
